After leaving college, he found a passion that would shape his career and life: restoring and enhancing footwear designed for the great outdoors. What started as a youthful curiosity has since evolved into a lifelong dedication to craftsmanship, with a reputation that extends well beyond his shop in Chesterfield, located near the breathtaking Peak District.

I recently contacted Nige and Emma to request they re-sole a pair of Scarpa Manta Winter boots which required immediate repair in the winter season. Nige and Emma couldn’t have been more helpful. I mailed the boots to him and 9 days later they arrived at the house fully repaired. Communication, turnaround time and quality of repair were all excellent and I won’t hesitate to use them again for boot re-soling in the future. Keep up the good work Feet First. Put my old Scarpa Revolution boots in for a complete resole, Boots are like new and given a new lease of life for a third of the cost of replacement boots.
Better still the new soles also take a semi automatic crampons.

I had a pair of technical mountaineering boots that needed a new sole - but I didn't have many days before leaving for my next trip. I tried another company first, who quoted a 4 month turnaround, but feet first were able to do it for me that week, and worked hard to get them back to me by special delivery (despite some complications), just in time! The sole refresh was immaculate, and it was much cheaper than a new pair of boots! Highly recommended. Thank you 🙂
Great communication from Chris and despite making the grave error of using Evri for next day delivery they eventually arrived with Feet First 11 days later! I paid for the express service and my Mammut boots were promptly returned - a superb job having been done on the resole and will no doubt see me through the next 10 years!
